Fix Your Parking Lot This Spring

The winter season across the country was a rough one. Storm after storm left millions of people without power and buried under feet of snow. If your commercial parking lot was constantly being plowed it is time to fix the lot this spring season. You don’t want people who use your lot to suffer damage to their vehicles because of potholes and other debris from the winter storms. That’s where paving companies come into play.

Potholes are no fun, even when in a parking lot where speeds are supposed to be around 5 MPH. Potholes can do a lot of damage to vehicles of all sizes. That’s why all commercial parking lots should be repaved after a long, brutal winter like the one we suffered through this year across the country. The Wisconsin area is no different.

Parking lots usually get thousands of vehicles in them each day. It can be difficult to shut the lot down to repave it, so it is best to do it in sessions or segments. Start with the most unused part of the lot first. Pave that and then ask employees and visitors to park there while other areas are closed and repaved over the next couple of days.

You will want to wait to begin this project until spring finally shows that it is going to hang around for good. You don’t want a freak storm coming through the area and messing with your paving plans. This could only delay the project or lead you to have to repave the same lot a second time depending on any damage left behind.

When you begin searching for a paving company for the parking lot project you should go with one that is experienced, local, and has handled large jobs in the past. The company should also know what it is like to deal with a lot that has been damaged from plowing.
